EVANESCENT will be part dance performance, part immersive dance party, exploring discotheques as sites of trance and transformation, where deep desire, fatigue, and joy can act as mechanisms of collective queer identity formation among Black and brown communities. The work will bean exercise in excess, adornment, and endurance, featuring an intersection of experimental movement and social dance, singing, live DJ mixing, and invitations for embodied witnessing and audience participation throughout.
